The hotel seems to be part way through a refurbishment. Unfortunately our room (on the 6th floor) had yet to benefit from this. The room was adequate and had a very useful balcony overlooking the sea from the side. Most staff v good. Reception staff decidedly cool. Location cures everything.
Top Tip
We just chilled for 4 days - if you can 'chill' in 30 degree heat. Nice is fantastic for 3-4 days - no longer unless you want to spend it on the (very stony) beach. A longer stay would need trips out of town. Most restaurants are really good and good value for money. Wouldn't tip any in particular but those out of the immediate tourist haunts are less expensive. If you are looking for the 'real France' - whatever that means - don't go to Nice.

Standard room very small and cramped and overlooking back of hotel and air conditioning.
So called "business centre" was just a cupboard with a computer and no printing facilities.
Very poor access from the road for those arriving by car.Nowhere to park ot off load luggage.

The friendly and efficient staff: the elegant building and the excellent location made for a very enjoyable stay. The relatively short walk to the station for trips to Antibbe and Monte Carlo, and to the fuit market, together with direct access to the mediterranean ncreased the value. While our room was small, the high ceilings gave a spacious feeling and was quiet. I would stay again without hesitation.

Take the opportunity to travel the excellent train service, east to Monte carlo oe west to Cannes with interesting and attracive small towns/resorts in between.

The only thing missing from our room that was stated was Tea and coffee making facilities. Everything else was perfect.
