La Perouse hotel
Located at the end of the Quai des Etats Unis, just below the castle, a couple of minutes' walk from the old town with its fashionable restaurants, cafes and the famous Flower Market.

La Perouse hotel
This modern hotel, painted a warm shade of yellow, is built into the Castle hill, overlooking the Baie des Anges. A few steps lead from the hotel entrance to a small cosy lobby, decorated in a natural soft colour scheme, with large windows offering a magnificient view of the sea. The guest rooms are beautifully decorated in a Provencal style using the materials of the area. The bathrooms are fully tiled with unpolished marble. Both guest rooms and bathrooms are in exceptional condition. The restaurant is charming and bright. It features an open fire place and offers a beautiful view of the garden terrace with its grove of citrus trees.

'Sea view' from lower floors can be very limited- but fantastic from upper floors- particularly corner room 410- one window looked out to sea, one window looked straight along the Nice sea-front. slightly quirky hotel-lots of stairs/lifts, and the jacizzi is on the roof. great if you want a change from the 'multiple/chain' hotel. restaurant not cheap. get breakfast in your price if you can- or use one of the local cafes for your coffee and croissants in the morning. clean, confortable.
Top Tip
2 minutes from flower/antique/friut market in the 'old town' quater of Nice.(artists area) - the bit with real character/charm- narrow streets etc. Loads of restaurants- massive choice of sea food and other restaurants- often with well priced 'fixe-price'offers- but watch out for the cost of wine( 20 euros+) and beer( we paid 8 euros a glass!), if you choose this quaint tourit area to eat in.Hotel at the foot of 'castle hill'- worth the walk up for the site/remains of the medieval castle, site of a more recent chateau, and 360' panoraminc views of nice/coted'azur. 10 mins to bus station( 1 euro a trip), 30 mins walk to train station though. Taxi from the aiport cost us 30 euro- we are not quite sure if this was a genuine meter reading or not. the bus will take half an hour and cost 4euro. would stay here again , definately

nice friendly and helpful with good location.
Top Tip
bar and restaurant rather expensive and in-room mini bar prohibitive but can easily purchase wine/ water/snacks etc outside and put in the fridge.
